Is my data secure?
Yes. Your CSV is uploaded over HTTPS and processed in an isolated job that runs once and is torn down within minutes — nothing leaves the spreadsheet you uploaded, and nothing is sold or shared. Bleedwise only stores the report itself so it’s there when you come back; the raw export is deleted after the diagnostic runs, and your account is gated by an email + password behind the same better-auth flow used everywhere else in the app.
What format does my CSV need to be in?
Anything QuickBooks, ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, or your accountant can export. A standard monthly export — one row per job with a revenue column and a materials column — is all the diagnostic needs. If the file is messy or partial, the report still runs; Bleedwise flags anything it couldn’t read and tells you which rows to re-export rather than failing the whole upload.
How is this different from QuickBooks?
QuickBooks records what happened; Bleedwise explains what’s losing you money and what to fix first. The reports your accountant pulls show revenue, cost of goods, and overhead as top-line numbers, but they don’t score your gross margin against the band for your shop’s size and region, and they don’t rank the three leaks most likely costing you margin this quarter. Bleedwise reads the same data your accountant sees and turns it into a prioritized diagnostic in minutes.
What if I don’t have clean data?
That’s the norm, not the exception — most contractors we work with have months of mixed personal and business expenses, missing categorizations, and half-finished jobs. The diagnostic is built to handle that: it ignores anything it can’t classify and works off the cleanest subset it can find, calling out which months are too noisy to score. The output is a picture of where your business actually stands, not a verdict that requires a perfect books first.
How long does setup take?
About five minutes for the first run. You upload the export, the diagnostic runs in the background, and within a few minutes you see the report ranked against the size and region of your shop. The only account work is an email + password to save the report — “Sign up” at the top of the page walks you through that in a couple of clicks.
